Kerala >> Kerala Geography

Kerala is located on the southwestern tip of India with the Arabian Sea on the West and the Western Ghats towering 500-2700 m on the East. Nature has generously blessed this State with its bounties, making it a land charming in every detail.

The State is divided into three regions- The coastal lowlands, the fertile midlands and the highlands. The lowlands of Kerala are networked by endless backwaters and the deltas of fourty four rivers. The midlands are rich with cashew, coconut, arecanut, tapioca, banana, rice, ginger, pepper, sugarcane and vegetable plantations. The forested highlands abound in tea, coffee, rubber and spice plantations and wildlife reserves. Amidst their rich  diversity, every region shares the natural splendour that is the unmistakable hallmark of Kerala.

With its unique geographic and cultural features, it''s only natural that Kerala has become one of the most sought-after tourist destinations in Asia.

Serene beaches, Emerald backwaters, Lush hillstations and exotic wildlife. Breathtaking waterfalls. Ayurvedic health holidays. Enchanting art forms. Magical festivals. Historic and cultural monuments. An exotic cuisine... All of them make Kerala a unique experience. An experience that lasts a lifetime.
